“I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. It might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit.”

John Steinbeck

Traill International School is one of Bangkok’s longest established and most successful schools with a heritage spanning over 50 years. We are an Early Years to Year 13 “all-through” school providing the English National Curriculum throughout our Early Years Foundation stage into Key Stages 1,2,3 and then IGCSE and A Levels. We believe a first class education will expand student’s choices and enrich their experiences, allowing them to fulfill their potential and make the most of life's opportunities. We work hand in hand with our students to maximise their potential and as a result our examination results are well above the national average for the UK and are better than the majority of other international schools. Our students are regular recipients of CIE International Awards amongst many other prestigious accolades and when it comes time to graduate from Traill, our students are in the best possible position to secure scholarships at some of the finest universities in the world.

The welfare of the students and staff is at the heart of everything we do at Traill and from the moment you enter our doors, you are aware of the school’s welcoming atmosphere. The founders of the school set out to create a school where children received an excellent academic education set against the background of a warm and supportive atmosphere. A successful formula which has made us the school we are today. Our school motto is “Everyone is Someone at Traill” and this says everything you need to know about the value we place on each and everyone here.

Understandably, we are fully accredited by Education Development Trust (EDT), British Schools Overseas (BSO) and Sor Mor Sor (Department of Education in Thailand). We are also members of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) and Thailand International Schools Activities Conference (TISAC).

Education the Traill Way

Traill International School welcomes children and students from the ages of 2 to 18. Our school caters for students from a wide range of backgrounds and is truly international, with students from over 35 different nationalities.

Our Primary School follows an integrated education programme incorporating the British National Curriculum for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and Rising Stars Assessment Progress Tests.  Literacy and Numeracy lessons are planned using the latest frameworks.

For Secondary and 6th Form, we follow the British National Curriculum. At the age of 16, students sit IGCSE examinations in eight or more subjects and then complete a further two years for their A-levels. These are independently set and marked by Cambridge Assessment International Education, who are the world's largest provider of international education programmes and qualifications. Traill students have consistently enjoyed excellent examination results – well above the average for both UK and international schools worldwide – and this year promises to be the same. Year after year, Traill students achieve Cambridge “Top in Thailand” awards for various subjects and categories, and we are committed to ensuring that this record continues.

Why Work at Traill?

At Traill we believe that our teachers are the school’s most valuable asset.  We look for teachers who have high expectations in terms of learning, engagement, behaviour and achievement.  We want not only those who are committed to providing a first class education but who also take an interest in their students by offering extracurricular activities, take time to watch their students in school productions and are happy to take the time to speak to their student’s parents.  We look for excellent role models for our students, who we are preparing to go to some of the best universities in the world.

Most importantly, Traill is an incredibly positive place to work and the school exudes an atmosphere of happiness, kindness and calm from Kindergarten to 6th form.

With less than 500 students we have a low teacher to student ratio, allowing teachers the opportunity to work closely with students.  The school boasts modern facilities and we have an ongoing programme of review and renovation.

As for Bangkok itself, this is an exciting and interesting place to live and work.  If you enjoy travel, there are incredible inexpensive opportunities to explore, both the differing regions of Thailand and the rest of the southern hemisphere.

For Successful Candidates we can offer:

  • a two year contract which is renewable at the end of the second year;

  • a competitive salary;

  • private health insurance;

  • return flights to and from your country of origin at the start and end of your contract;

  • housing allowance;

  • opportunities for ongoing professional development.

We offer a modified package for teachers recruited from Thailand
