Early Years

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum (Ages 2 to 4 years old)

Kindergarten/EYFS is the important foundation of your child’s education and it's important that you choose the right Kindergarten, so you will be able to build a bright future for your child.  We understand that everyone wants the best for their child and we believe that Traill International School is what you are looking for.  This is why at Traill we have devised innovative and stimulating learning through play activities, which are key to them achieving the strong educational foundation, which will stay with them all their lives.

We recognise that the most important role our teachers have in Kindergarten is to ensure that students feel happy and comfortable, as this is critical to their learning.  Our many years of experience have shown us that happy students quickly gain confidence and this makes building relationships with their teachers and their friends in Kindergarten much easier.  It is within this caring and supportive atmosphere that learning blossoms.  We encourage our student’s curiosity to explore the world around them, both indoors and outdoors and our purpose built facilities were designed to allow them to do this in a very safe environment.

In Kindergarten we use the most up to date British teaching frameworks to ensure that our students are taught using the latest teaching standards and as our students progress through the Kindergarten/EYFS programme they will develop knowledge in 7 areas of learning:

  • Communication and language

  • Literacy

  • Mathematics

  • Physical development

  • Personal, social and emotional development

  • Understanding the world

  • Expressive arts and design

For over 50 years we have been delivering a British curriculum education to students from all over the world.  We were one of the first schools in Thailand to be accredited by the British Government through their British Schools Overseas scheme.   This accreditation is only awarded to schools who have met their rigorous teaching standards.  Today, only 7 schools in Thailand have this accreditation.

Our class sizes are small to allow our teachers to provide individual support and attention to our students.  Our teaching staff are all British native speakers, which means that students are immersed fully in the English language from an early age.   Students are supported by our teaching assistants who speak both Thai and English.

Snacks and lunch are provided by Epicure who are the foremost provider of school food to international schools in Thailand.  During lunch in the school cafeteria, our young students enjoy a healthy meal and at the same time they get the opportunity to socialise with Year 1 students.

We strongly encourage parental involvement in the school and our teachers are more than happy to speak to parents to discuss their child’s  progress.  In addition to this, parents also have daily access to the school’s secure online journal system.  Through this journal teachers upload videos to show activities in the class.  You don’t have to miss any of your child’s educational milestones throughout Kindergarten.
